ExFed-Data Services
A Division of Joe O'Brien Investigations
WELCOME
Not all searches and investigations are created equal. No one database will meet all of your search needs. We at ExFed-Data Services understand this and that is precisely what makes us unique. That, and 40+ years of combined experience as a private investigator and investigative researcher.
Although database research has become an essential tool in this industry, it is important to know that crucial information can be missed. Over the years, we have developed contacts and sources that you can't find on an online database. We've also learned how to dig for information when it appears that it can't be found. And, if it is a request that we have never come across, we will do our best to find that source for you, too.
Think of the cost of a decision made on incomplete or inaccurate information. Whether your request is simple or complex, it is important to us that your results be complete and accurate.
ExFed-Data Services takes great pride in returning your results in a timely manner, being available to you with answers or advice, tracking your order and always returning your calls.
Check us out. Review our services. Call with questions. We think you will be pleased with the quality of our work.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT US
About Exfed Data
A Service Company
We are a small company with a total focus on complex data searches. We are more data investigators than a typical search firm. We specialize in data retrieval where in depth information is required, and where the information required must be complete and accurate. While we will take individual requests, our primary clientele are law firms, investigative bodies, and other corporations requiring intensive information development.
History
We are a new firm with an long history. Our firm has recently become part of O'Brien Investigations, brining the data search capabilities of our lead expert researchers to provide closer support for investigative agencies, legal process, due diligence, missing persons, criminal and civil matters, and insurance investigations. The art of finding information, whether it is from the expansive network of former FBI agents, or expert online search is a highly developed art and our staff bring many years of experience in these fields.
Future Goals
Our goal is to expand our base of clients in the investigative development of information service with special focus on professional and corporate information needs. Building on our lengthy experience we seek to move to the forefront of the specialized information development field.

WHAT WE DO
LOCATORS
Access to powerful database sources is necessary to locate an individual. These databases are drawn upon for all of our initial locator research, no matter how small the case.
There are those cases where the stakes are higher, and it must be determined whether or not to go forward with a major comprehensive search. Crucial information can be pursued through multiple sources, as important information is often hidden in locations seldom searched. We know these potential resources, and we know how to make the connection. This type of research is an art form, and here we excel.
BACKGROUND SEARCHES
A background search is a common term used to describe any one or a combination of reports gathered on an individual or a company. The report can be simple or complex depending on your needs. One client may only require a criminal check on an individual, while another client may need a more in-depth report. A more comprehensive report might include an address history, driving record, professional license verification, and county, state and federal criminial and civil record searches. The investigation may also need to cover more than one state.
CRIMINAL SEARCHES
Searches can be conducted on a county, state, or federal level.
Not everyone is aware that statewide searches may not cover all jurisdictions. Therefore, on a selective basis, a county by county search is sometimes required, in order to be thorough.
It is important to note that, with the exception of the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) operated by the FBI, to which there is no public access, there is no other criminal search that covers all jurisdictions.
CIVIL SEARCHES
Civil records can consist of suits, liens, judgments and bankruptcies. These records can be searched on a county, statewide (participating states) and federal level. As with criminal searches, each state's access and coverage varies. Some court systems divide cases into the Upper and Lower Courts based on a dollar value. More often than not, a civil search can only be run by name, therefore, a common name may require additional research (i.e., address search, family member search) to try to connect the individual to a particular case.
At the county level, civil records can provide information into the subject's involvement as a defendant or plaintiff within civil litigation proceedings. At the federal level, civil litigation records can provide insight into the subject's involvement in alleged violations of federal statutes or constitutional rights.
MOTOR VEHICLE INSURANCE
There is instant access to motor vehicle insurance in a handful of states - NY, NC, MD. Access to Florida Insurance is also quickly obtained if the accident happened in Florida and you have an accident report number and VIN. About half of the states do not keep track or do not release this information. For those states that will release the information, but are not on line, access to this information and procedures vary greatly. Many motor vehicle departments maintain this information on microfilm and it takes time to pull and fill the request.
The following states release insurance information:
Colorado
Connecticut
Delaware
District of Columbia
Florida
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky
Louisiana
Maryland
Massachusetts
Minnesota
New Jersey
New Mexico
Nevada
New York
North Carolina
Oregon
Pennsylvania
Rhode Island
South Carolina
Interstate Trucking - Important Notice: Interstate carriers operate vehicles that are authorized to operate in multiple state jurisdictions, including Canada. When insurance information cannot be found in the state where the vehicle is registered, we are able to locate the insurance information with the name of the company or the Interstate DOT number. The insurance is often not found under the company operating the vehicle but rather in the name of the company who has contracted with this common carrier to have his commodities hauled.

TESTIMONIALS
I am VERY impressed! I know how difficult it can be to locate many of our defendants. Thanks for your investigation. - New Jersey Attorney
We've been doing business with you for over 20 years and we have had nothing but great experiences with you ... you have helped our office tremendously with your timely reporting and the quality of your service. The fact that we've been with you through thick and thin for over 20 years pretty much says it all. Karen - L.
As a Private Investigator for over 25 years as well as having a national Information Brokerage business, I understand the need for accurate and timely responses to requests and that's what I receive from Joe O'Brien Investigations.
Paula is one of the most capable individuals I've had the pleasure of doing business with, she uses an almost intuitive manner when assigned a task that allows for her to go beyond the norm. I've know Paula for approximately 10 years and can say with no equivocation that she is one of the best researchers I've come across.
